Rabbi Dovid Gottlieb received Semicha from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary in 1995, and was a member of the distinguished Wexner Kollel Elyon from 1995 to 2003.
Before entering the semicha program, Rabbi Gottlieb studied philosophy at Yeshiva College as well as at Yeshiva University's Bernard Revel Graduate School.
Rabbi Gottlieb served as Rabbinic Intern to Rabbi Haskel Lookstein at New York's Congregation Kehillath Jeshurun from 1996-1998, has been a guest lecturer and Scholar in Residence at many synagogues, Magid Shiur at Yeshiva University to semicha and undergraduate students, and served as Summer Rabbi at the Young Israel of Riverdale in 2002.
Rabbi Gottlieb also spent two years at Yeshivat Sha'alvim prior to attending Yeshiva University.
He has written many scholarly articles on Torah topics, and was co-editor of the Torah journal Kol Tzvi, a publication of the Wexner Kollel Elyon, as well as a memorial volume of the Journal entitled Kesones Yosef.
He is the author of the sefer Ateres Yaakov, a compilation of essays on various topics from all areas of Jewish law.
Rabbi Gottlieb is married to the former Ilana Bachman of Staten Island. Mrs. Gottlieb is a graduate of Stern College, and a Ph.D. candidate at the YU Azrieli Graduate School of Education in the area of school administration. Rabbi and Mrs. Gottlieb have four children.
